International Conference on Trafficking of Young Women and Children

We have the pleasure to inform you that World Youth Foundation, an "NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations" is hosting the International Conference on Trafficking of Young Women and Children which will take place from 3rd – 7th September 2013 at Melaka, Malaysia.

 

This International Conference will bring together a vast array of participants including representatives from youth organizations, institutions of higher learning, civil society organizations to come together and to raise awareness, formulate joint actions and improve mechanisms and build capacities to prevent and combat human trafficking among young women and children.

 

This International Conference will seek to explore on how responsible leadership can make a difference in the lives of our future generation in the following areas:


a)      Addressing the linkages for increased demand for purchasing commercial sex acts and the incentive of sex traffickers to commit the trafficking of women and children ;

b)      Preventing and combatting human trafficking by strengthening the institutional and human capacities of the criminal justice systems;

c)      Raising awareness and educating youth through capacity building workshops 

 

Registration Fees for the International Conference are:

The International Conference will be output-oriented and will focus on collective reflection rather than on presentations of individual projects. On the last day of the International Conference participants will formulate a Youth Action Plan and Sustainable Development Projects in collaboration with and related stakeholders.

 

In addition, it will help participants of the International Conference to establish contacts, actively exchange ideas and explore how they can collaborate together after the Conference. Young people will be invited to multiply the results of the International Conference after they return home.
