  1. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITIONS IN HYDERABAD

    Foundation for Democratic Reforms (FDR) is one of India's leading think-tanks and research-resource centers for formulating and promoting fundamental reforms in political, electoral and governance spheres and in critical areas of state policy. It was established in 1996 and is based in Hyderabad, India. The goals of FDR are furthered by the activities of LOK SATTA (People Power), which was established in 1997 and quickly grew into India's largest citizens' movement.

    Work and responsibilities at various Research levels include:
    • Research, analysis, advocacy and communication on political and electoral issues. (Our Research Associates is expected to prepare high quality issue briefs, background notes and advocacy material on various policy issues)
    • Evaluation of various government policies and outcomes in defined sectors with focus on AP.
    • Background Research and Advocacy support to Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan, General Secretary, and Foundation for Democratic Reforms.
    Requirements
    • High level research and analytical capability
    • Good understanding of politics (AP/India)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and/or Telugu)
    • Ability to take initiative, to work both independently and as a member of a team, and to lead projects
    • Ability to multi-task and complete projects within a given time
    • Positions are based out of Hyderabad.

    Qualifications
    Master’s degree in Social Sciences is preferred. Candidates with social sciences or law background are encouraged to apply. However, we equally welcome motivated individuals with strong fundamentals in policy issues to apply for the role irrespective of their graduating discipline.
