Call for 3rd Edition of FICCI Water Awards 2014-15

FICCI Water Mission is working towards encouraging water conservation measures by all users, thereby contributing meaningfully towards better managing this precious and fast depleting resource. 

 

Under the auspices of the Water Mission, FICCI, in association with the HSBC, instituted an annual Water Awards. The awards are being initiated with the following objectives:

Recognise efforts and leadership in the area of water efficiency and conservation; and

Develop a knowledge base on sustainable water management practices adopted by different stakeholders and disseminate best practices for encouraging their adoption.

 

The Water Awards are proposed for the following four categories so as to recognise efforts and build up a database of sustainable models across various sectors:

 

Category 1: Industrial Water Efficiency - Industrial units belonging to the water intensive sectors - Thermal power, steel, textiles, pulp and paper, refinery, metallurgy and mining, cement, chemicals and fertilizers, sugar, engineering, FMCG etc. can apply for this category. Maximum 2 entries per company are allowed.

 

Category 2: Community Initiatives by Industry - Industrial units (CSR departments, civil society organisation involved if any) can apply in this category. Only those industries who have applied for category 1 are eligible to apply in Category 2.

 

Category 3: Innovation in Water Technology - Any product developer/ technology supplier in the area of water purification and treatment can apply.

 

Category 4: Water Initiatives by NGO - NGOs (Registered as a society, trust, not for profit organisation) working in the area of watershed management, drinking water and sanitation can apply in this category.

 

The call for entries for the 3rd Edition of FICCI Water Awards 2014-15 is enclosed with the mail. I request you to participate in the Water Awards by sending in entries from your organisation. The last date for submission of entries is December 31, 2014.  There is no entry fee for submission.
