One-Day International Seminar on Contemporary Issues in Development

Dear Madam/Sir,

Please accept our warm greetings. We feel immense pleasure in inviting you to the "One-Day International Seminar on Contemporary Issues in Development" Organized by Vishleshan Trust, In collaboration with Department of Human Resource Development, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Surat and International Institute for Development Studies (IIDS) Australia On December 11, 2016.

This seminar aims to provide platform for academicians, practitioners, entrepreneurs, research scholars and students to delve upon the contemporary issues in development particularly MDGs issues. Development theory has come a long way over the last century. It began with focus on economic growth and development, and eventually has reached a stage where researchers, policymakers, academicians, governments and NGO are looking at more holistic patterns of living than merely growth. Sustainable development, eventually, has become the most important notion of the day, and provides a more comprehensive definition of development, linking up ecological services and quality of life with economic growth. Such a paradigm shift in a phase of less than a century is no less than a revolution. The One-day international Seminar is one platform, for exchange and sharing their experiences, ideas and research results, related to different aspects of Contemporary Issues in Development.
