New academic opportunities from the UNCTAD Virtual Institute network

Dear Vi friends,

I am pleased to forward the following call for chapters from Efoby Uchenna, of our newest affiliate member, Nigeria's Covenant University.

I hope you find it of interest.

Call for Chapters: Economics and Political Implications of International Financial Reporting Standards
Economics and Political Implications of International Financial Reporting Standards will focus on the consequences and determinants of the adoption of the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS), which has remained a topical issue in International Accounting.

The book seeks to advance scholarship by providing a platform for theoretical and empirical discourse on the issues surrounding the adoption of IFRS; promote knowledge and debate about the determinants and consequences of IFRS adoption; and provide country case studies with regards to issues relating to the adoption of IFRS.

Its target audience includes: policy makers (international and national platforms), academics, researchers and advanced-level students working in diverse and related disciplines (e.g. business administration, development, economics, finance, international relations, political science, sociology and so on), and civil society.

Proposals should be submitted online by December 30, 2014.

For more information, contact co-editor, Efoby Uchenna, at efobi99@yahoo.co.uk.

Best regards,

Susana Olivares
